Surfing: five rules for a successful trip

Another thing is when you are going to go in for extreme sports on a trip: such a vacation requires more careful planning, preparation and, of course, compliance with some rules already in place. Today we will tell you how to plan a trip to the ocean for surfing so that you will have vivid and unforgettable memories from this trip.
Physical training
Surfing is an active sport, therefore it is naive to expect that you can easily get into the pipe from the office chair, to put it mildly. On the water, you will have to work intensively and for a long time with your hands, so if you are used to loading yourself with work on a laptop, you should preoccupy yourself with your workouts. This does not mean that you need to urgently perform a bench press, endurance is much more important here. The best simulator for this is an ordinary rope. Start training a month before the planned trip, jump a little every day, gradually increasing the duration of the load. It also makes sense to go to the pool, where primarily focus on the technique of swimming freestyle. A powerful confident stroke will give you 10 points ahead.
Insurance
Immediately before the trip, it is necessary to take out travel medical insurance extended to extreme sports in general or to surfing in particular. Yes, such insurance will cost you a little more, but during surfing one way or another the risk of injury is higher, and the cost of medical care abroad is unlikely to please you.
Sun protection
The most popular surfing destinations are, of course, the tropics. It is understandable, thinking about surfing, we willy-nilly imagine tanned guys and girls cutting through the waves in shorts and a bikini, and then drinking from fresh coconut in the shade of a palm tree. Spending your vacation like this is a temptation that is hard to resist, but does not forget that in the tropics there is a danger of sunburn under the scorching sun. Therefore, it is very important to constantly use sunscreens, and during surfing, use waterproof creams and special protective clothing.
Training
Another important point in surfing is the correct assessment of your own strengths. A skipping rope and a pool are just a preparatory stage that will make you stronger, but nothing can replace the experience. In general, surfing is only 20% of physical strength, and everything else is a knowledge acquired over many hours in the water: the ability to “read” the ocean, an understanding of when to do what, a sense of dangerous situations and the ability to avoid them. If you don’t have experience yet or it’s not enough, and only two to three weeks on vacation, it makes sense to turn to more experienced surfers for help. For beginners to master the basic technique you need to take lessons at a surf school or from an individual instructor. There is usually quite a lot of one and the other in any city where there are suitable waves. Those who already know how to catch a wave, but arrived in a new place for themselves,
Good company
Last but not least, the item is the company you are on vacation with. It’s no secret that emotions and impressions become brighter if there is someone to share them with, so be sure to encourage friends to keep you company. Learning to surf with your friends is more fun and effective – you can look at each other, be equal to the most dexterous, rejoice at successes and laugh at (temporary!) Failures. In addition, surfing will help you make new friends! It doesn’t matter whether you are traveling alone or in a big company, do not neglect the option of surfing the camp: here you can meet like-minded people from all over the world, train your English and learn a lot about the culture and mentality of representatives of other countries. Moreover, you don’t have any problems with an acquaintance,
Traveling with a purpose is always more interesting, and active pastime, especially in the ocean, will energize you much better than a lazy watch in a sun lounger near the pool. And, most importantly, do not think that you can learn to surf only at a young age, if you want, everyone can stand on the board. Choose an active holiday, you will have time to lie down at home!
